Info for Athletes

The popular Medication Inquiry Service Global DRO now offers information and explanations of the prohibited status in Italian. In addition, the latest app release brings a technical update, with push notifications available on cell phones for relevant news.

For athletes, coaches, medical professionals and parents, the Global DRO medication inquiry service is an easy-to-use tool for checking the prohibited status of medication. Every year, over 200,000 searches on medicines and active substances are made via the app or the SSI website. The search could previously be made in German, French and English, but the popular service is now also available in Italian. The aim is to make it easier for Italian-speaking athletes to use the medication inquiry service.

The medications and active ingredients must still be entered in German, as the data source used does not exist in Italian. However, the search screen, information and explanations on the respective prohibited status are now available in Italian. This is intended to provide users with Italian as their native language with greater certainty in understanding the search results.

A technical update was also carried out as part of the expansion. By updating the app, users now receive the most important athlete-relevant news from Swiss Sport Integrity practically as push notifications on their cell phones (e.g. annual changes to the Prohibited List, warnings, or adjustments to the control process).
